1785 Admiral Benedictus Marwood Kelly born. Lived at Wadlands Hotel, Fore Street, his father had a bank in Chapel Street.
1808 Holsworthy and West Devon Bank established. (Pearce, Cory, Fry and Co.)
1817 Holsworthy and West Devon Bank closed.
1856 Dingley & Co. opened their bank.
1869 East Cornwall Bank ( Robins, Foster, Coode and Bolitho ) opened an agency in Holsworthy.
1873 Devon and Cornwall Banking Co. established an agency in Holsworthy.
1910 September 28th. Sale of The Stanhope Hotel (Barclays Bank now).
1921 Fox Fowler Bank taken over by Lloyds Bank. It was the last private Bank in England, and printed it’s own bank notes.
1922 Dingley, Pethybridge, White and Dingley Bank amalgamated with The National Provincial and Union Bank (now Nat. West).
1929 Barclays Bank moved to Stanhope Chambers.
