1410    First mention of Manneworthy Mylle
1573    Record of John Cole, a miller,In Holsworthy. Presumably the derivation of Coles Mill.
1765    Donn's map of Devon showing the windmill at Knapps Hill Farm.
1789    Windmill mentioned again.
1797    Derriton Mill and Roydon Mill bridges recorded as being stone built.
1820    Land acquired on which to build the Wesleyan Chapel.
1832    Coles Mill bridge built at a cost of £350.
1846    Mumpers Lodge first mentioned. A mumper was a tramp.
1857    The new Market Hall was built at a cost of £450.
1870    Windmill on Windmill Hill first stated as being unused.
1872    Waterloo Bridge built, previously there was only a wooden bridge for pedestrians.
1879    May 13th. Foundation stones laid for new Bible Christian Chapel at St Giles in the Heath.
1879    Holsworthy Viaduct opened.
1890    Windmill stated as derelict and removed.
1898    22nd March. Derriton Viaduct opened, the first work of such size to be built of concrete.
1905    December 14th. Elm Tree House and grounds sold by private auction.
1913    February. Site of Drill Hall bought, and building began.
1927    Construction of Rydon Bridge completed.
1932    Holsworthy Cinema Co. built cinema which opened on 13th October.
1937    February 1st. Seats at Holsworthy Cinema performances cost ls/6d for Back Stalls, 1s/3d for Centre Stalls,and 9d and 6d for Front Stalls.
