1413    October 4th. Bishop Stafford granted a licence to Thomas and Joan Raymond, and their son Raymond, to have divine service in their Manor Chapel of “Symeston” (Simpson).

1418    St. Catherine’s Gild known to have been established by this time.
1420    1420—1461 James Butler, 5th. Earl of Ormonde and Earl of Wiltshire was Lord of the Manor of Holsworthy.
1420    1420—1461 Further licence given for Chapel at Simpson.
1421    March 8th. Abbot and Convent of St Mary Graces granted a lease for ninety-nine years to Arnulph Chaggstey for the Manor of Holsworthy, and water mill called Trayers Mill (thought to be Coles Mill).
1424    Further license for Manor Chapel at Simpson granted to John and Margery Cokkeworthy.
1425    John Holland (second of this name), Duke of Exeter, was Lord of the Manor of Holsworthy. The title of Duke of Exeter had been extinct, but was restored to him in 1443.

1460    Dr Thomas Linacre born. Later to become Rector of Holsworthy, Tutor to Prince Arthur in 1501, and physician to four sovereigns.
1461    Holsworthy Manor granted to the Archbishop of Canterbury, as trustee for Anna, Duchess of Exeter.
1464    April 18th. William Denyell instituted as Rector of Holsworthy.
1467    September 7th. Owen Lloyd Instituted as Rector of Holsworthy.

1485    September 20th. The King, (Henry VII), appointed Richard Selman, Yeoman of the Guard, to be Bailiff of Holsworthy and Torrington.
