1701    6th November. Digory Slade instituted as Rector of Holsworthy. Buried in Holsworthy 24th October 1711.
1704    Law suit over the ownership of Upcott and Thorne, this lasted twelve years.
1705    Rev Michael Taylor died at Holsworthy. He had been turned out of his living by the Act of Uniformity.
1706    Bell ringers paid 5s.0d. for ringing for the victory of Duke of Malborough at the battle of Ramillies.
1707    Church clock changed at a cost of £5. 15s.0d., a man called Hammott was paid 8d. for a days work.
1713    Thomas Orchard instituted Rector of Holsworthy.

1714    Phillip, 2nd Earl Stanhope, born.
1716    5th March. Stephen and John Coham bought Thorne.
